Book Review – Red Queen

Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Not bad of a book, being a young adult genre, i liked reading this book. It’s a fast read. Rags to princess story with a twist, ofcourse. Didn’t expect the super power thingy. But it was good. Lord of the rings + Hunger Games + Divergent mixed up thriller. Good for one read and i will be going back to Victoria Aveyard’s second book in the series – Glass Sword.

Summary – Mare is a commoner with blood color being red where as the royals are silver blood with super powers. Mare is not so commoner when she realises that she is one among those who are best of both worlds – red blood with super powers. The royals see this and hide her amongst themselves saying she is another royal who was lost. The right goes wrong and she is now branded as an outlaw. The story weaves nicely and surely will be waiting to read the next of series.
