Mommy-ing or being a wife sometimes is not an easy task, pretty much taxing I would say.. Previously, I used to read that after having a baby, multi-tasking goes to a whole new level and I never knew how and why.. But now, with a baby at hand, I do not deny one bit of it 😛
There has been days when I would feel bad and rant to my husband that I do not even get to do what I want to do for ex, go to the parlor for a quick cleanup or give clothes for stitching or go buy something for myself.
But there are times, that i make sure i do the things that i want to do – otherwise, it would “all work and no play will make Jack a dullboy” kind of thing.. 🙂 🙂
What does me-time mean to me – it means what i want to do specifically for myself alone and that can make me look for motivation within myself for the next day.
Starting mid of last year I’d re-started blogging again because that is one of the things that I used to love and had to park it to the side. And also, i love to read, so this is one on my me-time list. What i basically do is, have a personal list of what i want to do, for ex,
– read few pages of the book everyday
– write a blogpost everyday
– meditate for few minutes
– drink greentea (hot itself, there’s a story behind it, i prepare tea and the tea gets super cold because i “get” pulled into something with baby or household work, and the tea gets re-heated up and ultimately drink it is lukewarm…! LOL)
So, I do not specifically book a time to do these things, instead, i utilize whatever free time I have to do the things.. For ex., while traveling to work, i read few pages of a book and while blogging i drink hot green tea (yay!)…
Ultimately, if i get to do something for myself every day – that keeps me happy.. 🙂
