Road to nirvana – with punctuation marks !! … !!

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “By the Dots.”

Punctuation maketh a man(err.. A sentence I mean)..

Without punctuation life would be monotonous like this long sentence you are reading right now seems like a boorriinngg life no fun no laugh so much dullness nothing else just one looonggg life just like a black and white movie with no sound staring blank at a white wall kind a thing

Phewwwwww!!!!! I can breathe now.. You too can catch a breath, if you like..

Without punctuation it’s like a long breathe but every moment is like a few years..

I personally feel punctuation grows with age..

For a toddler/young kid, there’s no punctuation mark – full stop, comma or anything else.. Just like I described just keep talking with no breaks.. LOL..:D I wouldn’t attempt to give one more example of that loonngg sentence, don’t worry..

Then, in the teenage or younger years, one would use a lot of exclamation! For anything and everything!! Even to break a sad news, you would have an exclamation!!!!

Sorry to inform y’all I lost my bike!!!!! My best friend flunked in the exams!!!!! My cat died!!!!!!! I broke my leg !!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, comes the time where you do this… For e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g… Like you want to say something more and more… But stuck with this…. You know what I mean right !!!!!…….

(There’s no shame in accepting that I’m “sort of) stuck here and getting transitioned to the next level … … … Make that as only while I blog or chat or text lol, I know no one asked for a justification) …. … …

Then comes the years of professional touch where you know to use a full stop, comma and punctuation mark well (read as after writing innumerable emails and documents, which at times, make no sense)

THENNNNNNN YOU ATTAIN NIRVANA (hurrraayyy!!! a slo-mo dance I would say) you become the God of punctuation marks.. You know what to use where and how and PERIOD. THAT’S IT. OVER AND OUT. Then, there’s no stopping you, no one to point their dirty lil fingers at you, you now are privileged to look down upon others and correct “their” mistakes… … (another slo-mo dance to feel good, eh?!)

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

What’s your stage now – in this road to nirvana??

  1. Ahhh…punctuation! Without it, reading can be comical or frustrating. In a professional setting, it’s imperative (to me) that what we convey makes sense. In my world, and perhaps everyone’s world, that’s not always the case. Being a toddler wasn’t such a bad thing. 🙂
